About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Engineer to join our Application team at Pentera. In this role, you will primarily focus on the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our on-premise solution, a core component of our Automated Security Validation platform.

While your day-to-day responsibilities will center on the on-premise product, you may occasionally contribute to maintaining or developing features in related repositories that impact our SaaS product. Your work will be integral to delivering a cutting-edge, secure, and scalable solution to some of the most advanced cybersecurity challenges in the industry. As part of the team, you’ll collaborate with top-tier professionals, helping to evolve and enhance our on-premise platform and ensuring it remains at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the backend components of our on-premise solution, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
• Work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers to deliver impactful features and enhancements for the on-premise platform.
• Occasionally contribute to related repositories and features that may impact our SaaS product, ensuring seamless integration and consistency.
• Participate in architectural discussions and decisions, focusing on advancing the capabilities of our on-premise solution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, offering support to customers using the on-premise product.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Stay updated with the latest backend technologies and best practices, bringing fresh ideas to enhance the product.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for your work, from development and testing to deployment and monitoring, ensuring reliable delivery of the on-premise product.

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field (mandatory).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development.
• Proficient in Python, with a strong preference for Flask; experience with Java (Spring Boot) is essential.
• Significant experience with MongoDB, preferably using the on-premise community version in a Dockerized setup.
• Deep understanding and extensive experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to resolving challenges.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
• A passion for staying updated on the latest technologies and trends, with a focus on improving and enhancing system architecture.
• Solid knowledge of OOP principles, design patterns, and core coding principles (e.g., SOLID and GRASP); strong architectural skills are a must.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, best practices, and common vulnerabilities (an advantage).
