Pentera Introduces AI-Based Web Attack Testing

New capabilities add AI-driven payload generation, adaptive testing logic, and deeper context to web attack surface validation

Boston, Mass – August 5, 2025Pentera, the market leader in Automated Security Validation, introduced AI-based capabilities for Web Attack Surface testing as well as AI Insight Reporting for external facing assets. These capabilities enable more context-aware and adaptive attack emulation, helping security teams validate against the speed and sophistication of today’s AI-assisted threats. They build on Pentera’s growing suite of AI capabilities, first introduced with the launch of AI Insights Reporting in April 2025.

“AI is leveling the playing field, turning even keyboard kiddies into credible threat actors. Leveraging AI, attackers can move faster and with more precision than ever before,” said Ran Tamir, Chief Product Officer at Pentera. “With the addition of AI to our adversarial testing arsenal we’re giving defenders that same advantage, adapting in real time to new threat patterns and tuning each test with the context needed to uncover what traditional scans miss. We have a strong vision for how AI will permeate throughout the security validation practice, and these additions are only the beginning.”

The new use cases include:

  • Payload generation driven by current threat intelligence – AI enables Pentera to emulate newly discovered attack techniques faster by building payloads based on emerging threat trends.
  • PII-aware attack chaining – Pentera proactively identifies and extracts exposed Personally Identifiable Information (PII) during testing. When relevant, that data is automatically leveraged within an identity threat attack emulation.v
  • Attack execution with no language and cultural barriers – The platform understands variations in languages, naming conventions, and terminology across regions, ensuring attacks remain accurate regardless of how different environments label or structure user-facing components.
  • System-aware logic in attack tactics – The platform recognizes the type of system it is interacting with and automatically attempts the most relevant default credentials, enabling more precise, context-driven attacks based on how authentication is structured.

AI Security Insights Reporting for Pentera Surface

Pentera is also introducing the addition of AI-powered security posture reporting for externally facing assets. The new AI reports analyze historical test data from across a selected period, surfacing posture trends, regressions, and top remediation priorities. The AI insights reports are exportable and designed to give both technical teams and executives a clear view of exposure and progress over time.
