How Telefónica Improves Efficiency and Security Validation Across Services

Customer stories
Dec 23, 2024

Telefónica uses Pentera to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and validate vulnerabilities across a wide range of services. By shifting from manual pentesting to continuous validation, the team accelerates analysis and focuses on remediation instead of discovery.

Rubén Alonso, Manager of the Development Unit, and Rubén López, Pentester at Telefónica Innovación Digital, explain how Pentera supports security validation across diverse services. Previously, Telefónica relied on manual pentesting for its B2C services, which required significant time and investment. With Pentera, the team can now run tailored scans across different service types, including black box and gray box testing, allowing for more precise and adaptable validation.

The platform has significantly reduced time and cost while improving the speed and accuracy of vulnerability analysis. Instead of spending time identifying issues, pentesters now focus on helping teams resolve them.

Pentera also introduced continuous validation, replacing periodic testing with real-time monitoring of vulnerabilities. Starting with the video infrastructure, Telefónica quickly expanded usage, enabling faster analysis and more efficient coordination with business units to remediate findings.
